I find it baffling that so many people think that scientists are arrogant simply because scientists claim to know more about science than non-scientists.
The Logic of Science 
Bad example using Car Mechanics. Studies and tests regularly show that car mechanics rip off their customers by doing uneccesary repairs and overcharging. Similar with plumbers. Perhaps you can find a profession that isn’t guilty of exploiting the relative ignorance of their customers? Is there one?
